Introducing a new product designed to keep your foods fresh and cool.

With design, prototyping, and manufacturing support, 3D Innovations was able to assist Sachi Kitchenware with product development, going from concept to product.

How it works:
The patent pending Pupu Cooler is an innovative product that is both stylish and functional. This re-freezable cooler is insulated with polyurethane foam and is filled with a safe and non-toxic ice substitute gel to maintain a consistent and even temperature throughout your foods. Simply freeze the entire cooler overnight to keep foods cold for up to 10 hours indoors or out.

Double-walled structure provides maximum coldness, deflects external heat, and prevents condensation.

Lids and serving utensils are conveniently stored in holders to make serving easy and hassle-free. Contoured handles make carrying easy and a personal label is provided.

How to purchase:
The Pupu Cooler can be purchased at various locations throughout Hawaii. Contact us for more information. MSRP: $24.99

3D Printing + Creativity = Innovation

May 17, 2012

3D printing has been around for many years, but it has recently gained momentum with the public. Yes 3D printing is a great additive to the product development process for companies, but lets not forget that there is an immensely creative side to this technology. When you mix a dash of creativity with a 3D printer you are bound to produce a very innovative product!

“In addition to that so-called serious product development and engineering work, there’s a significant number of less serious, but equally important, efforts underway. These are pushing the limits of 3D printing toward more consumer-friendly — even quirky, some might say — applications. We’re talking 3D-printed chocolate, 3D-printed fabric and clothes, and even 3D-printed body parts.” – Design News

Busy, Busy, Busy…Check Out Some of Our Current Projects

We might be located in the vacation capital of the United States, but here at 3D Innovations we are hard at work on some great projects! We are so excited about them that we wanted to share a few with you.

Project 1: Pupu Cooler

Spending a long day at the beach is fun, but with all the swimming and playing in the sand you are bound to get hungry. Thanks to this great product you are able to keep your food cold and also have a convenient table. The Pupu Cooler is currently in the manufacturing phase and will be available to the market in late April or early May.

While developing this product we utilized 3D Design, 3D Printing to validate the design and to produce a functional prototype, and injection molding for mass production/ manufacturing of items for commercialization.

Project 2: SquareWrap

This project was based around the easy to use Square Credit Card reader and their free application that allows just about anyone to start accepting credit cards. The only downfall with this device is that the small compact size of the Square Credit Card reader makes it prone to becoming misplaced, lost or damaged. This is where we came in to help develop a solution for this vulnerable device.

The SquareWRAP is a carrying case solution for the Square Credit Card reader that allows you to safely and securely carry it with you at all times on your key ring, attached to your bag, a belt loop, on a neck lanyard or any number of carry configurations. The SquareWRAP also protects the Square Credit Card reader from being damaged by the day-to-day exposure to the contaminants and environmental elements you may encounter on a daily basis.

We utilized 3D Design and Injection Molding during the manufacturing processes for this project.

Additional Projects

Confidential projects we are working on are all focused around 3D Design, 3D Printing (SLS, FDM process) for validating design and producing prototypes, and design for injection molding manufacturing processes. We will share more information with you when we can!

What is Happening at 3D Innovations?

October 3, 2011

We have been very busy here at 3D innovations! The past few months have been exciting and blissfully busy…Two highlights for us include: participating as a DT Coach in the first annual Design Thinking Hawaii workshop and we helped Sachi Kitchenware develop an idea into a stylish and functional product.

First things first…you might be asking yourself, “What is the Design Thinking Hawaii workshop?” Well we have an answer, the Design Thinking Hawaii workshop introduces a powerful and innovative approach to problem solving. Developed by Stanford University Design School, these methods allow you to gain multiple perspectives of complex challenges and promotes collaborative team work. This was a wonderful opportunity for 3D Innovations’ management to immerse themselves into problem solving strategies and practicing viewing problems and solutions in other ways. This year was the first annual workshop of its kind and we cannot wait until next year when we can participate again.  Here is a great article that goes deeper into detail about the Design Thinking Hawaii workshop if you are interested: http://bytemarks.org/design-thinking-in-the-schools/

If that is not enough and you are still craving more information, just email us and we will be more than happy to provide you with further workshop information, info@3d-innovations.com

We would now like to take a moment to thank Mark Nobori, owner of Sachi Kitchenware, for choosing 3D Innovations as their partner to develop the Pupu Cooler. This project was exciting, challenging and very rewarding.

This re-freezable cooler is insulated with polyurethane foam and is filled with a safe and non-toxic ice substitute gel to maintain a consistent and even temperature throughout your foods. It can stay cold for up to 10 hours indoors and 5 hours outdoors! Lid and serving utensil holders were designed into the cooler to make serving hassle free and well organized. Now for all you outdoor lovers out there, can’t you just picture yourself spending a day at the beach with your family and not having to worry about keeping your food cold? Amazing.

3D Innovations successfully helped Sachi Kitchenware take their product from a concept to the manufacturing phase. We cannot wait to see what challenges Sachi Kitchenware will have for us next.
