– A six week program sparks a love for engineering in students –
Fifth graders in New York are learning about engineering thanks to a grant provided by Time Warner Cable. Students learn valuable lessons about solving problems through science and technology in this new after school program.
“The student interest in our summer engineering program was overwhelming and demonstrated the growing need for our integration of STEM-related information opportunities in our curriculum,” said Diane Irwin (District Science Coordinator).
In addition to the engineering programs, in an effort to get kids excited about STEM — science, technology, engineering and math — the district has implemented robotics programs into the elementary and middle schools and plans to offer more STEM learning opportunities in the future.
3D Innovations and 3D Academy support these kind of learning opportunities for students because we love to see growth in STEM programs around the world.
